I am very much of the disgruntled right now. I'm having one of those general angst at world days, and have been since yesterday night. The situation hasn't exactly been helped by noisy neighbours and oh yes, finding both bathrooms covered in something I decided not to conclude could be vomit and blood. Guess which one of my neighbours finished his finals yesterday? It's just fortunate that Tasha had seen him return home covered in brown face paint, which was the likely source of part of the mess in the bathrooms. The rest I do not wish to speculate on, because I suspect I was already right. Living with morons, it's lovely, it really is. My faith in humanity, tattered though it may frequently be, was restored a little when one of the girls down the corridor came and knocked on my door to check I hadn't had an accident or something. I think she'd seen me leave the chaos of the bathroom. But it's nice to know there's at least one kind-hearted person living on this corridor.
/bitter.
Bloggage is going to be a bit few and far between for the next couple of weeks, because it's only a week until my finals start, and the stress and panic have manifest themselves in giant form. I may well shut down all emotional functions for the foreseeable future because I'm not sure I'm quite able to handle finals in such an impressively calm and collected way as our paragon of composure.
But I have books, I have a lot of them. I also have my beautiful lucky Kero-chan necklace Tashular made me and if the worst comes to the worst I'm going to try some sort of alchemic transmutation on him to create my own adult Kero-chan with which to savage the whole of exam schools.
I also have lots of pictures of Jo on my desktop. She is now my officially my finals role model on account of the fact that Jo would own at finals.
Further to your observations.
Deep in the bowels of Squenix HQ...
"Dude, I hate being the most popular rpg maker in the world. It's really hateful being admired by every man and his dog for our beautiful beautiful videogmes"
"Yeah, I know. You'd think people had got the idea after the pile of poo concept we came up with for FFX-2. I mean Yuna! Yuna for crying out loud! She's hate on a stick! And yet the numbnuts still went out and bought it in their droves!"
"Hehehe, yeah, retards. And then when we shafted them for all that money with FFXI. Hehe, $100 just to play one game. Dude we're so awesome."
"Yeah, but what are we going to do about all the fans? They really don't seem to be going away."
"I know, let's delay Advent Children."
"Awesomebad."
>_<
...two things today. I could give you a lengthy translation of "The Tale of Sinuhe", but instead you shall have this. If he means nothing to you now, he probably will on Friday. Jane and I think he is awesome personified.
Not about anime, not about me angst, this just really upsets me. I'm not even going to make a political comment because I'm in no way qualified to, but I just find that really upsetting.
Look, I *know* I shouldn't like Bakuten. I *know* it has fanservice, helpless females and shoujo-ai, but it's really really GOOD.
And yes I know I'm not going to convince anyone else to like it because it's just one of those things that I must bear alone in a shameful manner, but it is such a shame because eps 5 and 6 are great. Meg is almost useful for once, and Jo is the epitome of decent-female-character wonderfulness as ever.
See through the fanservice and Bakuten IS a good show. -_-
Oh and ep 7 has people being abducted by giant crows...

This is the result of the collective brainpower of Jane and myself this afternoon. It's our new and unique idea for a children's animation.
I apologise unreservedly to the Japanologists and populace in general.
no my artwork hasn't improved since kindergarten, why do you ask?

In other news, Ivan bought me a book about puppies. ^______^ This made my day a LOT better. And Jane and I have invented the best anime characters in the world, but more about them when I have enough time and inclination or a scanner.
It's getting to the point where I'd break my rules about swearing in internet-publishable form. I'm having an exceptionally hateful twenty-four hours. The collective bastards of my life haven't broken me yet though, so I will carry on as my usual unchirpy self.
*grits teeth, grabs shotgun and slams door in disgust*
Go on, try me. >_<
Pigeon bombers. Awesome.
In other news, this morning I am agitated because Hotmail is down as is Messenger. This does not please me.
Am I really the only person I know who thinks Been Caught Stealing by Jane's Addiction is great? o_0 No, scratch that, am I the only person I know who has ever even heard that song? >_< This is my new wake-up song, for lo is it an awesometacular example of classic shouty pop/rock. I'm afraid Loosey failed to wake me up this morning, so it must be replaced. To be fair though, I was having a spectacularly fun dream about taking my dad to San Antonio. Which may or may not have been the result of the glee caused by seeing a dude in a San Antonio Spurs shirt in the covered market yesterday. I had to resist the urge to squeal at him in glee. YOU ARE WEARING THE SHIRT OF MY ADOPTED HOME'S BASKETBALL TEAM LET ME SQUEE AT YOU IN AN EMBARRASSING MANNER!!
*cough* yes. Anyway, not much is happening other than revision, although I did manage to ensnare Jenny walking past the OI and get her to come to Lizzu's for ice cream and revision, which was very much of the good. ^____^ However, I am knackered from this hot weather and now I am going to sleep. >_<
For everyone who doesn't check the BBC News obsessively or those who may have missed it, I present the BBC song.
Play the audio link for awesometacular BBC J-pop fun. o_0
Extract from email from Sebastian re the Texhnolzye dvd I lent him on Friday:
Subject : Not Fair!
Okay
This is totally not fair.
I'm hooked. =) Are you serious about no one else liking it?
Now all I have to do is watch it as many times as I can manage before next Friday.
See? See?? After only a year of trying I have found someone else who thinks Texhnolyze is awesome. ^___________________^
You are all wrong and you know it. :p Unless you also like Texhnolyze, then you are very very right.
*runs off to beat head against wall further over Coptic exam*
This amused me. Nothing more, nothing less. I just found it amusing.
DOWNLOAD! DOWNLOAD DMC 3 TRAILER NOW! I DO NOT CARE IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DEVIL MAY CRY IT IS TRULY OF THE AWESOMNITY!
*faints from excessive Dante squeeage* DANTE! VIRGIL! JUMPY-RUNNY-NO-SHIRTY-AWESOMETACULAR! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Since you enjoyed it so much, I shall open the competition to all!
So here it is:
COLOUR ME SEISHIROU-SAN!!
The rules are very simple. All you need to do is print off this picture so it fills a nice happy A4 sheet. Then get out your colouring pencils/felt tips/crayons and pretty up that bad boy. The more original the better. Also, extra points for awesomeness. The final step, give it to me! It will then be placed in the gallery of Sei-chans that presently adorns my wardrobe. Pit your skills against the incredible skills of her, her and her!
In other news, I watch lots of Hellsing today. This is a good thing. I am restraining the urge to bounce around the room in an Alucard fangirly way so very much. I think I've been quite well behaved actually, just the occasional flapping of arms and squealing every time he comes on screen but hey, who doesn't do that...? *cough*
I woke up this morning and got out of bed dancing. o_0 That's what I get for using Loosey from Bakuten as my alarm.
....but frankly I'm still somewhat disgusted at myself. o_0
NEW ADVENT CHILDREN TRAILER GLEE!!!!!
gbiefapbgupaqebge;rjabigjrn\\sk vgrbea;hvguipqehf ciodhawiur;ehaogihrto
^______________________________^
*cough* Yes, new trailer, new shots, happy me. Nasty American voiceover man sounds like he eats gravel like I eat Coco Pops, but never mind. I am in agreement with her about Vincent glee, and also Kujaroth appears to be quite able in his kicking of ass and taking of names. The highlight of the entire trailer for me, however *has* to be the new shot from the wheelchair dude scene. Yes I know you can barely see anything in it, but give me a higher quality version and fifteen minutes with VirtualDub and I'll be on my Sephy-hunting way. ^________^
Ahh glee... ^__________^
It's like videogame journalism turns into a little whippet.
(Actual content-tacular bloggage when I finish trawling literature on the Apocalypse of Elijah.)
...how I feel about the Van Helsing movie. Oh yes I hate it, I hate it so very much. It made me actually physically and audibly wince in pain. I hate it so much it nearly made me fall off my seat laughing. Just when you thought they couldn't make it any worse, the script-writing monkeys pulled out another gem!
I just don't know where to start, it's incredible. I could pick my way through the huge and gaping continuity errors with standard vampire mythology, I could elucidate a few million of the things that entirely shaft the Dracula continuity in this film, I could wax lyrical about the completely nonsensical plot they gave the film itself, but noooo, you must go and see these things for yourself. Believe me, it's worth it for the comedy value of this film. Take my words of advice, please.
Although if you do go and see it, you shalln't have the utterly incredible audience that we had, who have entirely restored my faith in humanity. I applaud the man who burped at the emotional scene between Kate Beckinsale's character and her brother. At this point the entire audience just exploded into laughter - never has a bodily function so well encompassed the opinion of a group of people. Quite the same reaction that the romantic climax to the film got. It really, really was the point when you thought they couldn't possibly make this film any more appaling. Everyone just burst out laughing. ^_____^
Man, I have no words for this film. I want the dvd, I really do.
I just have to continue the vitriol, I can't help it... Now, I think everyone knew I was going to hate this film, but really, how could it have been this?! It's a well known fact that I find vampires fascinating. Well, no, I ought to clear this up somewhat. It's more the vampire hunters, actually. It's like Alucard, he's cool because he's a vampire hunter. D, also cool because he's a vampire hunter. Characters I like in Dracula, vampire hunters. Van Helsing from the Van Helsing movie, however? Single most uncharismatic example of a genre of character I utterly love, except possibly Kate Beckinsale. *head on desk* How? Why??
I must go and sleep, I have to do Coptic examming tomorrow. o_0
In conclusion, go and see Van Helsing, it's the comedy hit of the year.
The home family went to see Van Helsing today, and so I have been given an advance preview of the hate. All but Mum seem to have hated it with all the vitriol I could wish, which is pleasing. ^_______^ I am, however, a *little* pleased at one of the revelations, that they at least had the decency for it not to be Abraham van Helsing, it's apparently some long lost relative or something (which may actually be worse, but at least my pet Dutch scholar remains relatively unscathed in all this...) But tomorrow we will see. o_0 I'm quite convinced my opinion of hate will still stand, but you never know...
%$\a3&! radio! >_< I was having the most awesome dream EVER and you ruined it with your evil alarm! >_< SEPHIROTH had just turned up. >_<
...alright so in context the chances were that he was going to try to kill me, but hey, I wanted to see what was going to happen. >_< It was so the best dream ever. And if anyone can tell me why I have so many dreams involving me being on the run, I'd be very interested to know. o_0
For some reason, The Boyfriend and I were on the run from some kind of authority (this was set in weird The Future, which in my head was linked to Texhnolyze, but I'm not sure why). Apparently I'd escaped from some bizarre situation with my family and/or said authority, and they wanted me back. But I didn't want to, so I hotwired a car (I'm just awesome in my dreams... o_0) and we left the city. Driving down a road outside town we got stopped by a police roadblock because they thought we might be, well, us. So we had to lie when they interrogated us and eventually they bought it and let us go. ^_____^
At this point, we heard a wonderfully sinister announcement on the radio (which we'd kept on in an attempt to keep ahead of the Authorities for some reason). They had officially stuck Sephiroth on the case. (At this point internal commentary which I get in dreams went "EEEEEEE!!! SEPHY-SAMA!")
Then we got to a town and we went into some kind of shopping centre, and stumbled across an arcade. Full of people, lots of places to hide. Only when we walked in, I may very nearly have died from a heart attack since aformentioned silver-haired biseinen was there, manning some kind of checkpoint looking for us. ^____^ *me goes in to "oh yeah, remember he's actually a psychopath as well as very pretty" mode and panics* And the last thing I saw before the alarm clock woke me up was Sephiroth cutting through the crowd (no pun or extra imagery intended o_0) to come and interrogate us. >_<
I wanted to know what happened! >_< Stupid alarm clock! >_< We so could have outwitted Sephiroth! >_<
Anyhow, I'm going to do washing and be irritated.
....things need to be blogged about, but frankly I am somewhat fried this week with revision and panic and so on and so forth. Things of notable notability would be that him and him are dudes for the presentular goodness. ^___^ I would say you all have to watch my Texhnolyze dvd, but frankly after a year of trying and having not convinced you of its brilliance, I know my proverbial place. :p *You're* the ones missing out. :p
Urm, May Day good as usual. Bizarre festival for a bizarre city. I do like it despite the ambivalent religious symbolism. It's just getting over that "remind me again, why are we awake at five am?" feeling . Anyway, yes, May Day was good, particularly the sleep-over beforehand. ^_____^
Hmmm...summary of weekend. Subjected scums to one of my very favourite films in the world, Edward Scissorhands, which I think was generally well received. It's very hard not to like that film. ^___^ Yes it's horribly sad, but it's so lovely. Directorial themeness continued on Sunday with Sleepy Hollow, which I wasn't all too keen on. Which is odd for Tim Burton because I generally like his films by default. On the plus side it's visually wonderful: pumpkins, grey and Johnny Depp in a suit, but I felt the plot let it down too much. A bit of a mess at points, and a bit too obvious at others. So yes, I don't think Nightmare Before Christmas has a rival for my favourite TB film at the moment.
*drums fingers on desk* Finished the arsey essay-exam. Even if I was awake until stupid o'clock finishing it and generally looking ragged, it's done. Coptic one next week, which will be fun on a stick, I'm sure. o_0
...and now I'm really hungry so I should go and forage.
