Yomi gets her (and Yoki’s) butt whooped by the Kekkaishi and the Urakai with their ENORMOUS FIREBALL OF DOOM. But now Yoki’s cute and stupid, not just stupid, so that’s okay!

I presume we’ll get a few episodes of usurpers coming to drain the power of Karasumori and our gallant heroes fighting evolving monsters, but Kekkaishi manages to be more entertaining than most because the animation’s really rather good and the whole “kekkai” thing is such a nifty form of battling (taking huge cuboid chunks off your enemy? Very cool!) that there’s a certain element of novelty to it. Whether or not this will last is another thing but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
