Ouran High School Host Club Episode 11 - Onii-chama is a Prince

Why was this episode so spectacularly unamusing? I don’t know what it was - it had Nekozawa AND Renge in it, it should have been awesome. But for some reason I only even smiled once, and that was at the stupid “hi-speed motor” which gets repeated every time Renge appears (I suppose it was the anticipation of what was coming).
Maybe it just fell foul of Ouran’s usual “Guest of the Week” suckdom. I guess that’s it, really.

Oh, I thought this was the best yet, because finally we have some more Nekozawa, although it still doesn’t compare to the manga in that respect. I’m blinded by my rampant fanboyism, of course, but each episode of Ourna just makes me laugh out loud so much, which is something few anime before it have really succeeded in doing.
Perhaps its just my skewed taste that allows me to only see the good in Ouran.

Hey I actually agree! I hated this episode, I skipped most of it. I have enjoyed every previous episode though.

I kinda have to agree as well. i think nekozawa and renge are hilarious in and of themselves but the episode felt just a little bit flat- like the timing or pacing was off. or maybe its because I had already spoiled myself long ago by reading the manga chapter so i knew all the jokes coming in already. still, i love beelzenef’s many faces and ueda yuji “evil voodoo” voice!

Actually, I also think this was the best episode yet. I laughed quite a few times, while I found many previous episodes to be somewhat flat or just plain boring. Other than art and animation, it’s pretty inconsistent - or they’re trying to please everybody by having each episode appeal to different group of viewers (and hence manage to please nobody overall?).

From the comments, it’s almost like this episode was really hit-or-miss. I enjoyed it a lot too and found myself giggling on a lot of Nekozawa’s training. It doesn’t hurt that I adore Nekozawa and Ueda Yuji’s voice is just the perfect choice. I found this episode funnier even than the previous one — which I found hilarious in the manga.

I also loved this episode. Surely it’s mostly because Nekozawa was included in it, but it was just amusing and cute in general. The whole Nekozawa brother-sister relationship was cute, and how Nekozawa tried to overcome his darkness to be accepted by Kirimi was sweet.
I loved the part when Nekozawa suddenly turned around and said, “…as ominous as a cursed wax figure!!” with scary, sparkle-like eyes. His face there was and is priceless.

this episode was awesome!XD you get to learn about nekozawa and his family
even though he and his sister were opposite he still cared for her and evntually at the end she cared about him too
you know i kind of like him before (like a tall dark and handsome guy) even though they didn’t show his face i didn’t really care but who new he would be a classic blonde hair and blue eyes.
admittedly i would join the dark magic club just because i would think it would be fun and that i would learn new magic tricks or something i wouldn’t know what i would be getting my self into.

Which chapter is this in the manga?
