Blood+ Episode 6 - A Father’s Hand

There is fighting, and the US military is EVIL once more, as they inject people with something called D67 that turns them into Chiropterans. And guess who they administered it to?

Well, you can probably write the rest of the episode yourselves, Blood+ is that predictable. Enjoyable, nonetheless, but still predictable. I’m not quite sure how things will play out from here onwards, though - there’s nowhere for Saya to really go unless she does ditch school entirely and head out a-slaying with Red Shield, but that would mean leaving Kai and Riku behind which I can’t see happening. Unless they draft them in so Kai can be the official shouting-about-being-useless person and Riku can be the team mascot, or something…

  1. As far as predictions go, I predict that we’ll see plenty of filler episodes in this series.

  2. Yeah, I agree with Nunka. But will it pique your interest that a whole bunch of new characters, who are all in a school in Vietnam, have been added to the main site?

  3. Based on the SS fansub, I’m a little uncertain of the US military’s purpose for D67. Is it intended to turn people into Chiropterans, or is it intended to give them the healing ability of Chiropterans? The first objective would be purely evil, the second evil in pursuit of a possibly worthy / possibly unnatural & hubristic goal.

One reason for my uncertainty is that George’s arm doesn’t turn monstrous until immediately after the Chiropteran in the elevator gashes open his abdomen.

Are the objectives of the US military clearer in the original Japanese? Also, “Monsieur Argeno” clearly isn’t a US citizen; what’s he doing bossing around an army base commander?
