Whoops.
So.
That anime stuff, eh?
*wind whistles*
I’m turning into one of those people who reads more about anime than they watch (i.e. I’ve watched virtually nothing at all for months).
I’m not very happy about this turn of events, actually. Last season there were some interesting visual gems (Casshern), and I was head over heels for Mouryou no Hako before I just…well, stopped watching. I’ve rewatched a few episodes here and there of some of the stuff I have on DVD (PS all go out and buy TokiKake/Girl Who Leapt Through Time NOW, wherever you may live), but otherwise I’ve been doing that mythical other stuff.
January has not done much to inspire me back into the habit (I’ve tried out a couple of shows, but Kemono no Souja is a bit too sedate and Sora wo Miageru thingymabob Sekai, despite being based on an OVA I quite enjoyed, now strangely irritates me), unfortunately, so I’ll be playing catchup for a while WHEN I do get back on the bandwagon. I’ve definitely dropped a bunch of stuff so I don’t have too much baggage to be getting on with, but it may take me a while to get back into the swing of things (not that this blog is particularly relevant or interesting these days - I can’t believe it’s been nearly four years now since I started this thing).
So I’m not dead. I’m merely resting. Hopefully I’ll have something relatively interesting to say sometime soon, but I’m not sure at the moment.

No worries, mate. I’ve been challenged to find things to keep up with and write about so the forum doesn’t run out of steam, too. We’re clearly not in a golden age of anime right now…

Hey, at least you’re still following things! I haven’t the slightest clue of what’s coming out these days, aside from the most wonderfully pointlessly wank-inspiring Hetalia. But I watched Escaflowne and… :(
I think what BluWacky is embarking on is an ancient, venerated path Chosen forum inhabitants and bloggers diligently follow towards Immortality: the final form being something like Momotato. You update once and the entire world goes wild on that very day. What do you mean it’s the other way around?

Ha, Bluwacky, I know exactly what you mean — one wishes that there was a gem like Fantastic Children in this season. I’m not sure if it’s viewer preference or content, but it’s been hard to find a series that is as engrossing as the titles of old.
PS: Second w’s comment :)
PPS: I’m not sure if you read Garten’s most recent post, but he echoes your comments almost identically:

I’m in a similar situation. I’m not fully back watching anime yet, but I’ve been on hiatus for months now. Not much interests me. Coincidentally, I watched Girl Who Leapt Through Time yesterday and just blogged about it. Weird.
Anyways, having fun living life! I’m starting to work out so I can start dating women, they don’t like the fatties. :P

Well, If you need some recommendations:
Hellsing OVA (if you can stomach the intense gore)
Saiunkoku Monogatari
Rahxephon
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
12 Kingdoms
You’ve probably seen them all though. Personally, I’ve been wanting to see someone blog on Kimba The White Lion. Turn-A-Gundam is also not a bad choice and one you won’t see floating around on blogs.
