Tokyo Majin Gakuen Episode 10 - The Bohisattva Eye

Can anyone explain to me in relatively simple terms what the Bohisattva Eye really is? From a brief read around it seems to be a mental state of being in Buddhism whereby the Buddhist, having cast off not only all worries but also any sense of a difference between life and death, is completely liberated from the “dharma”, which is the proper Buddhist way of life. So one who possesses the Eye is some kind of eternal being or somesuch? It would tie in with Aoi’s powers of resurrection I suppose, but I suspect the writers just used it because it sounds cool and it means she can have one eye go funky.
Anyway, this episode really managed to get me over a lot of my frustrations with the show. Sure, the whole series has been focused on Aoi, but at least it was intentional! Furthermore, we saw a return of the more kinetic, exciting animation that’s been lacking more recently; not just in Kisaragi and Kyoichi’s fight, but also Komaki’s little rants (which actually seemed a little out of character, to be honest) and the moments with Kyoko. It looks like things might be kicking into gear for the end of this arc in a few episodes time, which can only be a good thing!

Bosatsugan = plot device that serves as an explanation/excuse for far too many things. :D That said, it’s pretty cool, in my opinion. (Except when they actually use it. That’s just gross.)
By the way, I loved the Kyouichi vs Kisaragi fight. The reason and the characters themselves may be clichéd, but they worked very well (as usual in this show), and of course there was the great coreography and animation.

Kisaragi said something about the Eye letting the owner manipulate the Dragon Veins…this helped me not a whit because I also don’t understand what the Dragon Veins are. When it comes to TMGK, I tend to not pay too much attention to plot elements, such as they are. In TMGK, they are tenuous threads of spider silk–just strong enough to keep me barely understanding why someone’s fighting someone else, but not visible enough for me to actually comprehend it. :(
